Have you seen This is England? The fashion, the hair, and the music in this 2006 movie is wonderful. Its up there on my top ten list! Lets be honest, 80's fashion and hair is back with the vengence! This past semester i watched this is england for a class on masculinity in a state of terror. The british skinhead movement in the late 70's was rife with concern over their state and i think director Shane Meadows does a really great job mixing national politics of the falklands war with class struggles, and vivid relationships of power and violence within the skinhead movement. The dynamics of asserting a skinhead- style- masculinity through gangmischief, mayhem and brotherhood is incredibly powerful and vivid. Not to mention these grrrls ^ are total babes!
